Abstract

Indonesia's mining industry remains significant to the economy, contributing 183.50 trillion rupiah in November 2023. However, its high risk and complexity have led to an increase in accidents. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources faces challenges in implementing safety regulations, although the Mining Safety Management System (SMKP) has been implemented by 88% of companies. Evaluations show that SMKP implementation has not been fully effective. PT Mitrabara Adiperdana Tbk as a case study, despite implementing SMKP, still found safety violations. Improving mining safety management using maturity measurement is one method that can be used to improve safety performance. Document review measurement itself is one of the methods in measuring the level of mining safety maturity based on the Decree of the Director General of Mineral and Coal No.10.K /MB.01/DJB.T/2023. The results of the measurement PTMA got a value of 0.825 if referring to the regulations in the categorization of results, then PTMA is at level 4, namely the goals and objectives of mining safety management already exist and have been carried out for each department, but for findings such as follow-up audit findings, committee meeting attendance, and unit inspection documents must be improved in order to improve the company's safety performance.
