Analisis Perbedaan Gangguan Fungsi Paru Berdasarkan Kelompok Kerja pada Pekerja Bagian Proses Kerja dan Penggunaan Material Kerja
Abstract
Respirable dust exposure in the workplace is a primary risk factor for lung function disorders among steel construction workers, in addition to individual factors such as age, smoking habits, medical history, work tenure, and PPE use. This study aims to analyze the differences in lung function disorders based on exposure sources and to formulate control recommendations. A cross-sectional design was employed with a total population of 30 workers from welding, cutting, painting, and HSE departments. Data analysis utilized the Mann-Whitney test. The results showed a significant difference in lung function disorders between the production process and material-related exposure groups (p = 0.011). Control recommendations include the installation of local exhaust ventilation systems; administrative controls such as updating PPE SOPs and periodically monitoring dust exposure; and the use of PPE in the form of half-face respirators with particle and organic gas filter cartridges.
