Abstract

Work fatigue is one of the factors that can affect workers’ safety, health, and performance. Internal data from PT X showed 20 incidents, including occupational accidents, near misses, and quality-related findings associated with work fatigue. This study aimed to analyze the effects of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), physical workload, sleep quality, and age on work fatigue among employees of PT X, a logistics company. This study employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design involving 60 employees of PT X. Work fatigue was measured using the IFRC questionnaire, MSD complaints were assessed using GOTRAK, sleep quality was measured using the PSQI, and physical workload was measured using the Cardiovascular Load (%CVL) method. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results showed that MSD complaints (p=0.011), physical workload (p=0.000), sleep quality (p=0.000), and age (p=0.021) had significant effects on work fatigue. Simultaneously, all independent variables significantly affected work fatigue. Physical workload was the most dominant factor influencing work fatigue, followed by sleep quality, MSD complaints, and age. The company is advised to control physical workload, improve the implementation of ergonomic work practices, manage working hours effectively, and conduct regular fatigue monitoring to reduce the risk of workplace incidents.
