Analisis Potensi Bahaya Kebakaran pada Ruang UPS/Baterai dan Panel Kontrol Menggunakan Fire Risk Assessment Semikuantitatif Berbasis Konsekuensi
Abstract
The UPS/Battery Room and Control Panel Room are critical areas in an energy terminal facility because they support the continuity of electrical and operational systems. The presence of batteries, UPS units, electrical panels, cables, and control components creates potential fire hazards that need to be identified during the planning stage. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of fire hazards in the UPS/Battery Room and Control Panel Room based on room design and planning conditions. The method used in this study is a semi-quantitative consequence-based Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) referring to the principles of NFPA 551. The consequence aspect is focused on property loss consequence; therefore, the assessment emphasizes potential damage to physical assets and equipment. The research stages include hazard identification, fire scenario determination, fire hazard identification, property loss consequence assessment, likelihood and consequence scoring, and risk level classification using a risk matrix. The results show that thermal runaway with propagation is the critical fire scenario in the UPS/Battery Room, with a risk score of 15 and a Moderate to High category. In the Control Panel Room, electrical short circuit leading to panel fire is identified as the critical scenario, with a risk score of 12 and a Moderate to High category. The FRA results have been validated through expert judgement and can be used as an initial basis for planning fire risk control measures in both rooms.
