Abstract

Indonesia, as the largest maritime nation in the world, holds a significant responsibility in safeguarding its maritime sovereignty. To support this, the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) requires modern defense equipment such as warships. A national shipyard company is responsible for constructing these vessels. However, the ship construction project experienced a delay of up to nine (9) months from the planned schedule, necessitating an analysis to prevent future delays. This study employs the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Event Tree Analysis (ETA) methods. FTA is used to identify the main causes of delay, with the highest factor being the implementation of Work from Home during the COVID-19 pandemic, having a probability value of 0.0738. ETA is applied to assess the impacts of delay, with one of the outputs showing a probability value of 0.2715, which indicates a significant likelihood of project disruption. The results of the analysis highlight the importance of regular evaluation, stronger coordination between teams, and improve resource planning. This research is expected to reduce the risk of delays in warship construction projects and ensure project efficiency and timeliness.
