PENGEMBANGAN SISTEM INFORMASI PERSEDIAAN BARANG BERBASIS MICROSOFT EXCEL VISUAL BASIC FOR APPLICATIONS (VBA)

Abstract

The implementation of an inventory management information system based on Microsoft Excel Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) has become a practical solution to address the challenges of manual recording in shipbuilding companies in Surabaya. The old system caused delays in recording, discrepancies in stock data, and errors in estimating the needed goods. Using the Waterfall approach, the system is developed through stages of requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Main features include automatic recording of incoming goods, outgoing goods, stock cards, and internal delivery notes, which can operate without an internet connection. Testing with the black-box method shows that all system features function accurately and validly, achieving a success rate of 100%. Besides improving data accuracy, the system also enhances work efficiency in the warehouse. The use of Excel VBA has proven suitable for companies that have not yet implemented an integrated digital system and need a cost-effective yet functional solution.
