Abstract

One of the Air Separation Plant (ASP) projects in Batang has reached the final stage
of construction. However, there is one pipeline that has not yet been planned or designed—
specifically, the wastewater pipeline from the cooling water process. Proper disposal of this
wastewater is essential to prevent environmental contamination, especially in nearby
residential areas. Therefore, this final project focuses on designing the wastewater piping
system in accordance with the ASME B31.3 standard. The system uses 3-inch PVC pipes and
includes two main pumps: the first pump transfers the wastewater to a temporary holding pond,
and the second pump delivers it to the industrial estate's Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).
Headloss calculations resulted in values of 3.7 meters (manual) and 6.4 meters (simulation) for
the first pump, and 9 meters (manual) and 9.64 meters (simulation) for the second pump. The
selected pump type is EBARA 40-125/1.5, with a required power of 1.5 kW. Additionally, based
on the material calculation, the total estimated construction cost of the piping system is
approximately Rp 34,435,000.
