The Aircraft Refueling Depot (DPPU) is a facility that has various operational support
systems, one of which is a fire protection system. In the shelter pump area, the only fire protection
system currently available is a sprinkler system. This condition poses a potential risk if a fire spreads
to the area around the pump shelter, considering that there is no additional fire extinguishing system
in accordance with the provisions of the Decree of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of
Indonesia No. KEP.186/MEN/1999. Therefore, it is necessary to add a fire extinguishing system in the
form of a hydrant pillar to increase the effectiveness of firefighting and strengthen protection for the
area. The scope of this study includes the redesign of the fire extinguishing system piping in accordance
with NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 20, and NFPA 24 standards. In addition, an analysis was conducted
on the calculation of water capacity requirements, pump pressure (head pump), and pump power, both
manually and with the aid of technical software. Based on data processing, 14 pillar hydrant points
and 32 sprinkler head points were obtained. The total water requirement for the fire extinguishing
system is 593 m3
. The total head calculation manually is 135.125 m, while the calculation using
software shows 139.407 m. Translated with DeepL.com (free version) This design is expected to
significantly increase the effectiveness and coverage of the fire protection system.
