Abstract

In the design of the piping system design on the storage tank, there are several
considerations such as tank settlement because the large capacity causes a heavy load on the
foundation. So it is important to analyze the impact of land subsidence on the piping system
connected to the storage tank. In the calculation of the civil division regarding the reduction of the
tank within the next 25 years, it is predicted that the tank will decrease by 107.593 mm with an elastic
settlement value of 35 mm and a total settlement of 107.593 mm. In this study, the researchers carried
out an analysis of the appropriate design to accommodate the occurrence of tank settlement by
designing a piping system with tangan gareng, spring support and adjustable support. The stress
value is carried out with sustain and occasional loading where the sustain loading is influenced by
settlement from the 1st year to the 25th year. The maximum value of the bending stress in the design
of the maximum span, tangan gareng, spring support and adjustable support is 40530 Psi,
respectively. 11468,2 Psi, 4546.1 Psi, 4561 Psi in the 25th year. The value of the nozzle load was
analyzed on the Resultant Force (FR) and Resultant Moment (MR) from the 1st year to the 25th year.
The value of the resultant force at the maximum design pipe span, tangan gareng, spring support and
adjustable support respectively at 1116 N, 1688 N, 2068,5 N, 2068,5 N in the 25th year and did not
exceed the allowable nozzle force. The value of the resultant moment (MR) at the maximum design
span, tangan gareng, spring support and adjustable support is 2592,75 Nm, 4123,7 Nm, 1515,4 Nm,
1515,4 Nm in the 25th year. In terms of stress analysis and the economic value of the spring support
design, and adjustable support is a suitable design to be applied because it is able to anticipate the
existence of tank settlements from year 1 to year 25.
