ANALISIS STRESS JALUR PIPA STEAM CONDENSATE LINE NUMBER SCC-150-C2AAFSX-L81307-EHO
Abstract
Line installation with initial isometric drawing line number SCC-150-C2AAFSX-L81307-
EHO in biodiesel piping system carried out by PT. CAS experience deformation after 1 month process.
The possible cause is stress. Based on the problem, this final project would analyze stress validation
due to it. The analysis included allowable pipe span, flexibility, and stress analysis using CAESAR II
software. ASME B31.3 was used to determine sustained, occasional and thermal load. The results of
allowable pipe span calculations in initial and existing isometric drawing are acceptable because the
pipe support number has met the minimum amount needed. Calculation of initial and existing isometric
drawing has a value more than K1 so the line is not flexible so a recommended design is needed. Its
model refers to existing isometric drawing and must have less value than K1. The highest stress values
resulting from sustained, occasinal and thermal in initial isometric drawing are 1532.3 psi, 2404.3 psi,
and 19701.8 psi. While the existing value is 3953.2 psi, 6963.8 psi, and 5767.6 psi. In recommended
one, the highest values obtained are 3929.7 psi, 4910 psi and 13459.2 psi so all stress values don’t
exceed the standard. The final conclusion is deformation occurred due to pipe flexibility value of 0.707
which is greater than K1.
