Abstract

When the construction phase will be carried out on the onshore project for the construction of a
new gas outlet well piping system, there is a problem with the outlet wellhead direction with a slope of 8° from
the initial direction of the design drawing. A design temperature of 149°C, diameter of 10" with ASTM A790
material design pressure of 3000 psig, API 5L X65 design pressure of 2000 psig. Pipe support uses spring
hangers at two points to anticipate thermal movements occurring. Pipe stress analysis is done statically using
CAESAR II software and flange check manual calculation. Maximum allowable stress for the third line number
is a sustained load of 28900.0 psi, an occasional load of 38437.0 psi, and a thermal load of 45830.3 psi. The
highest pipe stress value is sustained load node 20 of 11714.8 Psi, occasional load node 20 of 15341.7 psi, and
thermal load node 360 of 41334.9 psi. The largest pressure equivalent flange results in operating case node 60
is 3541.57 psi and node 80 is 2453.66 psi with allowable pressure of 8339.86 psi and 4902.39 psi. Spring
Hangers have a load design of 5174 lb for PS-0001-01 and 7647 lb for PS-0001-02 corresponding MSS SP-58
and displacement values of X, Y, Z doesn’t exceed the movement datasheet limit.
