Abstract

Clean water has an important role for the survival of living things. This final project aims to design
a clean water distribution design for PDAM Sidoarjo from the Tanggulangin Distribution Center to housing.
“Shoji Land” housing is a new housing development which is in the process of being located in Sambiroto,
Karang Tanjung, Sidoarjo. With the construction of new housing, clean water supply is also needed to meet
water needs in the area in the future. The activities carried out are designing clean water distribution lines to
new housing so that water needs can be met, calculating the amount of water demand, calculating the total
pump head and selecting the appropriate pump and modeling with the help of WaterCAD software. The amount
of debit needed to supply all housing is 1,732,608 liters/day. This distribution design uses PVC and Ductile
Iron pipe materials with a total pipe length of 52,000.3 m. From this design, the total headloss value is 17.9981
meters and the total pump head is 59.024 meters. From the total pump head and the required amount of
discharge, a pump with the Grundfos brand type Centrifugal Pump was chosen with the number NBG 125-80-
400. This pump has a discharge capacity of 180 m³/hour and a head level of 68 meters. Based on the analysis
using WaterCAD software, obtained several variables such as the value of flow demand and flow supplied that
are in accordance with the provisions and the fluid pressure has met the standard above the minimum pressure
of 0.75bar. So it can be said that the design of the clean water distribution line from the Tanggulangin
Distribution Center to housing can work well.
