Abstract

In the implementation of construction projects, many things can cause changes in the
duration and completion of the project. The initial duration of work is 6 months, but due to demand
from the project owner, the work is accelerated to 4 months. Based on this background, in this reaserch
will be accelerated the duration of the construction of electro chlorination piping system through the
addition of the man power and man hour. Calculation of duration and initial cost is done by creating
a network planning then calculation of productivity man-hour/dia-inch in accordance with the
company's standards. Before the acceleration, first determined the productivity of work to obtain a
normal duration and conducted analysis using CPM (Critical Path Method) so that critical paths are
obtained. Acceleration is done by Crash Duration and Dual Shift methods to find the optimum duration
and minimum cost. From the results of the analysis obtained in normal duration costs Rp
3,521,974,000.00 with 158 days duration, then the dual shift method in all activities costs Rp
3,862,523,000.00 with 79 days duration, while the dual shift method in several activities costs Rp.
3.597.747.316.00 with 98 days duration, and on the crashing method costs Rp 3,446,008,696.00 with
105 days duration. Acceleration with crashing method is chosen because the resulting duration meets
the owner's demand witht a lower cost.
