Perngaruh Perlakuan Panas PWHT dan Preheat Pengelasan Dissimilar Material SA-106 Grade B dengan SA-312 TP316L Terhadap Sifat Mekanik Material dan Luas HAZ pada Instalasi Pig System Tangki Curah Cair HSD dan Methanol

In the HSD and methanol tank construction project there is a pig system that serves to clean
slugs regularly, using stainless steel SA-312 TP316L material, in pipes using carbon steel SA-106
Grade B material, so that problems arise in the welding process, that is in PWHT and preheat processes
that affect the mechanical properties of the material. The research method used is to conduct hardness
and metalographic test to determine the value of hardness and extent of HAZ area in the material. From
the hardness data obtained result, the highest hardness value is found in material “A” that doesn't get
PWHT and preheat with a value of 249,9 HV, while the lowest value is found in material “C”that gets
PWHT and preheat with a value of 154,7 HV. from metalographic test the highest HAZ width in
material “C” that is 2,62 mm for carbon steel and 2,54 mm for stainless steel, while the lowest value
on material “A” that is 2,06 mm for carbon steel and 2,01 mm for stainless steel. It can be concluded
that PWHT and preheat can reduce the hardness value of a material but increase the width of the
resulting HAZ area.
