Abstract

The mechanical field consists of the construction of storage tank units, and Process
pipelines. This storage tank is used as a fuel storage area, namely the fuel in question is HSD and
METHANOL. It is known that the tank has some high risk of experiencing fire. In this final project,
we will discuss the design of fire fighting system types of hydrants and sprinklers based on NFPA to
provide more security for the tank and have made layout drawings, 3D piperoute designs, and
isometric drawings. The pipe size used is 6” for the main pipe and 3” for the branch pipe. The
number of hydrants used is 2 and the number of sprinklers used is 72. Based on the calculation of the
total head manually, a value of 133.49 m was obtained and the total head calculation using software
was obtained a value of 125.26 m with an error percentage value of 5.27% and the The pump power
used is 139.035 kW for manual calculations and for pipe flow expert software calculations, the pump
power is 134.62 kW with an error percentage value of 3.17%. The pump selection is done first by
using a selection chart and the use of the NSCF 125-315 lowara pump is obtained. The estimated cost
of materials and equipment needed for this firefighting system is Rp. 1,118,019,853,
