Abstract

Abstract - At one of the Ammonia company has a tank with a capacity of 40,000 MT which has been in operation for 20 years, and it appears to be tilting so an external inspection is required. The inspection is carried out on the tank and its foundation which is feared to affect the condition of the foundation such as the problem of subsidence from the tank foundation. The subsidence of the tank foundation can cause a tank to  slope. To find out the slope, a calculation refers to the API 653 Annex B standard through measuring the height on the foundation along the radius of the tank which is divided into 18 points with the same distance. Non-planar settlement was obtained because the R2 value was 0.7107 which indicated that the R2 value was less than 0.9. From the calculation results, it is obtained that the maximum decrease value (Smax) that occurs in area 1 is 1.1207 in (0.0285 m); in area 2 of 0.4803 in (0.0122 m); and in area 3 of 1.2808 in (0.0325 m).
