Abstract

On a project, there is often a problem or constraint outside of the project's initial planning, so that delays in a project will inevitably occur. The delay that occurs will cause the duration and cost of the planned project will not be equal to the duration and cost of project implementation. One way to anticipate it by doing optimization. In doing the optimization, cost and time factor must be paid attention to, so that obtained optimum cost and time efficiency and quality according to the desired standard. The North Acid Gas Flare RDMP RU-V Balikpapan is selected for the research study due to delays in its completion. Optimization is done by making the network using PDM (Precedence Diagram Method) to get a critical path. Calculation of productivity and cost of work on critical path then using the Crash Duration only focuses on the addition of workers and as a way to overcome the delays in this project. The analysis results obtained work with the Crash Duration methods cost Rp.7.031.000.000 with the duration 196 days, while working with the normal cost Rp.6.644.000.000 and 216 days. Optimization using the Crash Duration methods is selected because it can solve the delay that occurred without adding the project's total duration.
