Abstract

Underground piping have a big risk of corrosion, so control must be considered. Corrosion control is carried out by the method of coating, painting and a protective layer (wrapping) or using the cathodic protection method, both the sacrificial anode (SACP) and impressed current (ICCP). To find out the most ideal corrosion control design, a test is needed to compare the corrosion rate of each design with variations in anode weight, paint thickness, and the number of layer wrapping. Corrosion rate values were obtained from A106-B material test results using an ASTM G31-72 standard immersion test.
