Abstract

Gempolkrep sugar mill is located in Mojokerto, East Java. In the sugar mill there should be several security systems to protect the worker and product. One of the security systems that must be available in a sugar mill is a firefighting system. In the author's observation, the Gempolkrep sugar mill has an inadequate firefighting system so that it needs a firefighting system design that complies with applicable standards and regulations. In this final project will be done by designing firefighting systems in sugar mills that are suitable for NFPA 850. In firefighting system design, headloss calculation is needed to determine pump power and pump selection. The result is that as many as 16 hydrants, 13 fire monitors and 75 sprinkler heads are used. Headloss value based on manual calculations and pipe flow analysis software is 97.43 m and 100.43 m with a percentage error of 2.99%. The pump power is 117,9 kW, so the pump used is TAKI-Pumps SPM Centrifugal Pumps 200-50 with 220 kW power with electric motor Purity Motor Pump YE3-355M-2 250 kW and diesel motor PD Series Portable Fire Diesel Pump 6126TL 250 kW.
