Abstract

Abstract -  Research and discovery of theories have been carried out about calculating the most effective insulation thickness using a critical thick formula. The critical thickness is located at the confluence the two lines of conduction and convection so that the value of heat loss and the cost is obtained by effectively. On the other condition, there is a large axial force if insulation only viewed in terms of Heat loss. Modelling is done numerically with the finite element computational fluid dynamic (CFD) method. Modelling is aided by fluent software and static structural from Ansys17.2.The results of the study were carried out on the Heat loss manual calculation method, that the best thickness in the critical thickness is 25 mm. While the results of software modelling obtained the maximum stress value that was best at a thickness of 15mm, viz 194780 KPa. Optimization is done by one way Anova statistical method on Axial Force and Thickness then the most optimum thickness results are 20 mm.
