Abstract

The electrical distribution system plays a vital role in ensuring the continuity of production processes in the manufacturing industry, particularly in maintaining the reliability and safety of power supply to production equipment. One of the crucial parts of this system is the Mainsubstation, which consists of various components such as grounding disconnect switches, circuit breakers, transformers, and others. Common issues include false signals in protection relays, manual operation errors, and mechanical failures due to inadequate maintenance. This study aims to analyze the potential failures of Mainsubstation equipment using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method. Each failure mode is evaluated based on Severity, Occurrence, and Detection levels to calculate the Risk Priority Number (RPN), which is used to prioritize corrective actions on critical components. The results indicate that the component with the highest RPN value is the grounding disconnect switch, with a score of 140, indicating a significant risk to the reliability of the electrical distribution system. Maintenance recommendations are focused on periodic inspections, recoating, and improving installation quality. Through the implementation of FMEA, companies can design more effective preventive maintenance strategies to minimize the risk of failure in the electrical distribution system.
