Abstract

The poultry feed industry is one of the crucial industries in Indonesia. Poultry feed is processed in a feed processing unit that relies on modern machines, one of the example is the Hammer Mill Stolz machine, which functions to crush raw feed materials in the grinding process. After measurements were taken, the combined noise results were 111.2 dBA. This noise exceeds the noise treshold value of 85 dBA for 8 working hours. Workers in the hammer mill stolz machine area work for 8 hours without using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the form of earplugs or earmuffs. So that, according to the results of the company's medical checkup in 2024, 47.3% of workers in the area experienced varying hearing loss. From the results of the noise risk assessment, technical control was given in the form of a hammer mill stolz machine enclosure, which was adjusted to the calculation of the noise received by the workers. The calculated machine noise was 118.9 dBA. There are six choices of enclosure materials available, namely brick, cement concrete, wood, glass, plywood panels, and gypsum boards. The material is then calculated for Transmission Loss and Noise Reduction values ??with the thickness values ??available on the market and a thickness of 10 cm. After the calculation, the results obtained are that the enclosure will be made of plywood panel material with a thickness of 10 cm. The noise value that can be reduced by the enclosure with the material and thickness is 40.4 dBA. The measured noise after reduction is 78.5 dBA. So it can be concluded that the enclosure with plywood panel material with a thickness of 10 cm can reduce noise to below the Threshold Limit Value (NAB) of 85 dBA.
