Analisis Postur Kerja Berdasarkan SNI 9011:2021 dan Rancangan Perbaikan Stasiun Kerja pada Operator Mesin Jahit Jumbo Bag
Abstract
Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs), also known as Gangguan Otot dan Tulang Rangka Akibat Kerja (GOTRAK), are among the most common occupational diseases. An observation of activities at a plastic bag manufacturing company revealed that several stages of the production process involve manual handling, which can potentially cause WMSDs in workers. One job that is particularly exposed to ergonomic hazards is the sewing of Jumbo Bags, where sewing machine operators must sit in non-ergonomic positions for 7 hours, performing repetitive movements with their hands and feet, as well as twisting and bending their bodies. A survey indicated that 67% of Jumbo Bag sewing machine operators reported WMSD complaints with high-risk levels. In response to these issues, a posture analysis of Jumbo Bag sewing machine operators was conducted based on SNI 9011:2021, and recommendations for ergonomic risk control were provided. The research methodology involved an initial survey to identify WMSD complaints, followed by an analysis using the ergonomic hazard checklist according to SNI 9011:2021 to evaluate the level of ergonomic risk faced by the sewing machine operators. The findings indicated that the risk level for the operators was classified as hazardous, with a total score of 9, which is greater than 7, necessitating corrective actions to reduce the risk in accordance with the hierarchy of controls. The recommended controls included engineering interventions such as redesigning the sewing machine tables and chairs. Implementing these recommendations is expected to reduce the potential hazards faced by workers, thereby lowering the ergonomic risk level for the sewing machine operators.
