Abstract

The construction of high-rise building projects cannot be separated from the use of mechanical equipment to accelerate the work. Mechanical equipment requires routine inspections every three months. The purpose of these routine inspections is to ensure that the mechanical equipment can be operated safely to minimize workplace accidents. After interviewing the safety officer, it was found that during safety patrols, there were many findings leading to unsafe conditions in the mechanical equipment. Construction service companies typically have a lot of mechanical equipment, and during re-inspection, the safety team often experiences delays of more than three months. Additionally, the execution of mechanical equipment inspections is still done manually, on paper, making the inspection reports prone to loss, tearing, and water damage, resulting in them being difficult or even impossible to read. These issues can be minimized with research focused on the efficiency and timeliness of mechanical equipment inspections using a website-based system. This website will feature reminders when mechanical equipment is due for re-inspection, sending notifications to the mechanical equipment inspector, and adding a tagging feature in the form of QR Code stickers linked to the mechanical equipment inspection results. The website will be designed using PHP programming language and the database using MySQL. This information system is expected to minimize unsafe conditions on mechanical equipment and improve the efficiency of mechanical equipment inspection activities. The results obtained after creating the information system are that it runs well and there are no errors or bugs.
