Abstract

Oil and gas support company is a service provider and place for oil and gas companies in Indonesia, one of the places offered is a jetty as a place for ships to dock when they want to load and unload goods or people, over time the company decided to expand the jetty area, before carrying out construction many factors must be considered, one of which is the work safety factor and fire protection. The main purpose of this study was to determine the fire risk assessment in the jetty area. This study uses the NFPA 551 standard in 2022 with a qualitative method that is adjusted to the existing conditions in the company and uses a checklist to determine its value. The results obtained from this study are that 70% of the work carried out has a very high risk value, this is because the work carried out involves flammable materials and 30% has a high risk value, this is because the work carried out has a high frequency value and has an impact on property damage. In determining the probability value and consequence, the experjudgement has its own risk matrix from the company so that in its preparation it is discussed directly by the experjudgement. For active fire protection, the selected ones are hydrants and APAR, for hydrants installed in the jetty edge area while APAR is placed on each operational vehicle and indoor area such as container office and warehouse. After conducting a risk control analysis, a decrease was obtained in jobs that had a very high risk to medium, while for jobs that previously had a high risk value it decreased to low.
