Abstract

The number of ship accidents that occurred in Indonesia in the last six years from 2012 to 2017 according to the list issued by the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT), recorded 80 cases of shipping accidents. The accident resulted in 273 dead/disappeared fatalities, and 45 injured victims, with the highest types of accidents namely: 29 ships caught fire/exploded and 19 ships sank. (NTSC) Oil Bulk Assist Ship (BCM) is a type of ship Tankers have the most potential for fires due to carrying flammable materials, namely oil. The BCM ship is currently being built by PT. Batamec Shipyard. It is planned that the BCM ship will be completed in 2022. Then the Landing Ship Tank (LST) ship, the LST ship is a tank carrier and also a means of defense for Indonesian waters. The LST ship was launched in 2021 and built by PT. Eternal City. The reason the researchers chose these two ships was because the different types of ships affected the design of the Watermist System on the two ships. Researchers designed the Watermist system on the two ships by referring to the SOLAS rules. The reason the researchers chose the SOLAS rules as a reference for designing the Watermist System is because SOLAS is a maritime safety rule that is recognized by the United Nations. based on manual calculations for the LAFF water mist system a P&ID image, isometric image, discharge for 10L/min has been made. the largest flow rate is 60L/min, the total head of the system is 70 m and the required pump power of the system is 6.1 kW. By looking at data from manual calculations, the pump selection for the water mist system uses the Grundfos CR 5-12 A-FGJ-A-V HQQV pump.
