STUDI TEKNIS DAN EKONOMIS PENGGUNAAN MESIN DIESEL TRUK (LAND USE) SEBAGAI PENGGERAK KAPAL PANDU
Abstract
Based on the operating data Pelindo III Surabaya province in 2017 there were 9,120 ships entering the port, indicating the total of ship visits in the port of tanjung perak surabaya has density. But, the reality of these conditions can not be separated from the lack of facilities and infrastructure on pilot boat. One of the factors is the age of the pilot engine which operates continuously so it needs to be replaced new engine. As a solution to improve the performance of pilot engines is to use truck diesel engine as the prime mover. References in using truck diesel engine as the prime mover are the rules & guidelines from BKI with conditions on the ship have horsepower under 500 hp. This final project aims to analyze the technical study of the use of truck diesel engine that includes how much power the engine, size dimension of engine, the supporting system of the engine, total weight of the engine and calculation of economic costs as needed. Stage of the planning process is calculation of the power engine, selection of the engine that will be used, drawing of the supporting system, calculation of cost. Results of this study show that technical point the use of a truck diesel engine as a prime mover on pilot boat still feasible with engine power of 222 hp, dimensions of the engine in accordance with the foundation, adjustment of support system, weight of engine equal to 818 kg and economical value of benefit cost ratio equal to 1.99 so that truck engine feasible to be used.
