Abstract

The use of diesel fuel, a finite alami resource, will eventually reach its limits. As a result,
finding alternative fuels like biodiesel has become crucial. Biodiesel is renewable and typically
sourced from biological materials such as plants and animals, offering a more eco- friendly
alternative. Common feedstocks for biodiesel production include palm oil, used cooking oil, and soybean
oil. In this study, these three oils were converted into biodiesel through esterification and
transesterification processes and then blended to create multi- feedstock biodiesel. This biodiesel was
mixed with HSD ( Pertamina Dex) to produce fuel blends of B20, B35, and B100. The characteristics
of these blends, such as flash point, density, and viscosity, were tested, revealing that B100 biodiesel
met the quality standards specified by SNI. Additionally, B100 biodiesel exhibited the highest power
and torque, whereas Pertamina Dex demonstrated the most efficient fuel consumption. The tests were
performed on a four- stroke diesel engine with lamp loads of 1000 watts, 2000 watts, and 3000 watts,
and engine speeds ranging from 1000 rpm to 1400 rpm.
