PERANCANGAN INSTALASI PEMBUAT GELOMBANG UNTUK PERAIRAN DALAM, MENENGAH DAN DANGKAL PADA TANGKI UJI ARUS-GELOMBANG MULTIFUNGSI
Abstract
To study the phenomena and mechanisms behind ocean wave formation, simulations of wave
generation are essential. Therefore, designing a wave maker for a multifunctional wave-current test
tank is a necessary step. The objective of this study is to develop a versatile wave maker capable of
generating waves at three different water depths: deep, moderate, and shallow. The wave maker will
be used in a test tank with dimensions of 6 m x 2 m x 1.2 m for deep and intermediate water, and 21 m
x 2 m x 1.2 m for shallow water. The wave maker uses a plunger type drive system for deep water and
intermediate water and piston type for shallow water. This research uses calculation and modeling
methods to get the wave maker design results to make waves with maximum criteria and shapes at a
depth of 0,38 m for deep water, 0,3 m for intermediate water and 0,1 m for shallow water. From manual
calculations, the results obtained are 5 to 10 number of waves with a maximum wave height of 0,127
m in deep water, 0,683 m in intermediate water, and 0.996 m in shallow water. Wave maker exciter
design modeling produces a triangular prism shape in the plunger type and a beam plate in the piston
type.
