STUDI NUMERIK PENGARUH VARIASI RASIO DIAMETER STAGGER SILINDER DI DEPAN RETURNING BLADE TURBIN ANGIN SAVONIUS TIPE OVERLAP MYRING n=1
Abstract
The coefficient of power Savonius wind turbine improved in experimental studies that added overlap using myring equation n = 1 and variation in the stagger cylinder diameter ratio in front of the returning blade. This research is in the form of a numerical study using the 3-dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method. In this simulation, the solver chosen is pressure based with a transient time model. Simulations were carried out to determine the value of the coefficient of power the turbine. The turbine has the same diameter (D) and height of 0.4 meters with the addition of overlap myring n= 1. The variation stagger cylinder diameter (ds) ratio (ds/D) 0.4; 0.5; 0.6; 0.7. The final results show that the performance of the turbine at a ratio diameter stagger cylinder 0,4 can achieve the highest increase of 11% compared to the Savonius wind turbine without a stagger cylinder with the coefficient of power (Cp) of 0.298 at Tip Speed Ratio 0.8.
