KAJIAN EKSPERIMEN PENGARUH PANJANG DEFLEKTOR YANG DIPASANG 45° DI DEPAN RETURNING BLADE TURBIN ANGIN SAVONIUS DENGAN MYRING n=1
Abstract
Indonesia has 154.9 gigawatts (GW) wind energy so it is potential to be utilized
as a power plant. Savonius wind turbines can be used for this function. In the previous research,
additional deflector can improve the performance of Savonius wind turbine but it is not optimum
yet so another experiment must be carried out. The angle used in the experiment is ? = 45° with a
deflector width of 0.4 m. The length variations are (L) = 0.1 m, 0.2 m, 0.3 m and 0.4 m in front of
returning blade with Myring n = 1. The wind speed variations are 5 m/s, 6 m/s and 7 m/s. It is
conducted to find out how deflector length affects to the coefficient of power (Cp) and coefficient
of torque (Cm). The best results from the experiment were obtained at a deflector length of 0.1 m
and speed of 6 m/s if it is compared to the other variation
