Analisis Karakteristik Dan Engine Propeller Matching Pada Propeller Gawn Dengan Variasi Sudut Skew Pada Kapal Kombatan 142 Meter
Abstract
This research discusses the DTMB 5415 which is recommended by the ITTC as a research vessel related to ship resistance and propulsion. The propeller is a key component in the design of the vessel, with the Gawn series chosen for its suitability for high-speed combatant vessels. Modification of the skew angle on the propeller can affect the fluid pressure and load. Analysis of propellers on fast ships shows superior efficiency. This study aims to analyze the difference in performance of the Gawn propeller on Kombatan ships after modifying the skew angle using ANSYS software and the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method. And Engine Propeller Matching (EPM) is the focus to find the optimal operating point between engine speed and propeller load. The most optimum propeller is the gawn skew 45 propeller because it has the highest thrust coefficient value of 0.2603 at J 0.6 compared to other variations and the highest efficiency of 0.6894 in calculations from simulation results. And the EPM calculation produces an intersection of the thrust coefficient value of 0.09 and the highest efficiency of 0.655 compared to other variations. Then calculated the operational matching point of the 45 gawn skew propeller, the power absorbed into the propeller is 87.92% of the maximum power of the main engine.
