Abstract

The Refurbished Passenger Ship is a passenger and freight ship operating on the Kupang - Rote shipping route. Built in Japan in December 1980 with NK Class, then inaugurated by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry in March 2021 with BKI Class. In April 2021, the ship sank due to high waves from a tropical cyclone at Bolok Harbor, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. So it is necessary to change the piping system line on the ship. As is the case with the main engine cooling system. On this refurbished passenger ship has a closed main cooling system, this cooling system has two media, namely fresh water and sea water media. The design of this cooling piping system aims to make the system run optimally. This system is specifically designed to meet the cooling needs of the passenger ship's main motor by involving pumps and pipes. In this study, the type of galvanized steel material was obtained with pipe diameters of 250 mm and 150 mm and resulted in a pump head of 25.3 m with an effective power of 30 kW and Heat Exchanger Specifications with a heat transfer surface of 30.332 m2.
