Studi Numerik Pengaruh Variasi Jarak Stagger Silinder Di Depan Returning Blade Terhadap Performa Turbin Angin Savonius Dengan Fin Tipe Myring n=1
Abstract
Improved Savonius wind turbine performance was achieved by incorporating a fin type myring n = 1 with varying cylinder stagger lengths ahead of the returning blade. 3D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) numerical simulation research constituted the next set of tests. In addition to verifying the experimental data, the simulation allowed us to visualise the turbine flow, calculate the coefficients of torque and power, and check the results. Turbine dimensions were 0.4 m in diameter and 1 m in height, and the fin type was myring. Stagger cylinders with S/D values of 1.4, 1.7, 2.0, and 2.3 varied in distance. When comparing Savonius wind turbines with myring n=1 and no stagger cylinder, at a distance variation of S/D = 1.4, the final result shows that the former has the biggest performance improvement, at 4.04%. At a tip-speed ratio (TSR) of 0.8, the coefficient of power (Cp) is 0.3371.
