STUDI NUMERIK PENGARUH PERUBAHAN SUDUT MASUK DAN SUDUT KELUAR BLADE TERHADAP PERFORMA AXIAL FAN 445MM
Abstract
The use of axial fans for air handling units on ships is still widely used because axial
fans produce higher flowrates than centrifugal fans when pressure requirements are relatively low. Many
companies produce axial fans but they do not care about the resulting performance. As a result, the flowrate
requirements for air handling units are not met. Now many domestic companies are developing axial fans
to maximize the performance of axial fans.To maximize the performance of the axial fan, several
modifications are made. Many modifications are made such as modifying the blade inlet and outlet angles,
the number of blades, blade profiles. In this study, modifications will be made to the inlet angle and outlet
angle of the airfoil. The airfoil inlet angle will be increased by 1° and reduced by 1° while the airfoil outlet
angle will be increased by 1° and reduced by 1°. In this study, 3D modeling was carried out using CFD
(Computational Fluid Dynamics) method.After modifying the inlet and outlet angles on the axial fan, the
most optimal variation is to increase by 1° the outlet angle of the trailing edges because it has a relatively
large flow coefficient and power coefficient value.
