Abstract

Limited availability of petroleum encourages renewable energy which can later be considered in the

industrial world. Palm oil biodiesel is one alternative that has a very good prospect because of its abundant

availability. In this marine diesel engine performance research, conducted to determine the value of the power,

torque, generator specific fuel consumption (GSFC) produced. The variation of fuel used in this study is a

mixture of Pertamina dex and biodiesel palm oil with a percentage of 10%,20%, 30%, and 40%. And with 4

variations of rpm of 650, 750, 850, and 950. The results are that the b10 is a fuel mixture that produces the

highest power with an average of 19.5341 Kw. The Torque calculation B10 has the highest torque value with an

average228.918 Nm. And B40 fuel has the lowest GSFC value with an average of 35.9096 g/Kwh. Thus it can be

concluded because palm oil biodiesel has a significant effect on the performance produced by diesel engine.
