Abstract

The ice block machine was ever made for the purpose of help the fisherman around. The
ice machine is made in two models based on the unloading system, automatically and manually. The
automatic machine created with dimentions (2x2.4x2.5)m and there are 14 molds that have an ice
block production capcity 460 kg / 18 hours. The manual machine created with dimention
(1x0,6x0,7)m and there are8 molds that have an ice block production capacity 176 kg , 13 hours.
In this tool there are still some obstacle that is when the temperature distribution is uneven so the
process cooling and reverse for too long. Therefor this aims to perfect previous research. This
machine is designed in a manual model with dimensions of 1 x 0,6 x 0,7 m with 4 molds and
production capacity 176 kg / 13 hours.
The process of making this machine begins with ice machine construction design, ice mold,
evaporator, unloading mechanism, calculation of cooling load, COP system, and TXV selection.
Fabrication consists of the process of making ice molds, evaporators, Construction machinery,
manufacturing insulation and frame cover making. This machine uses AC outdoor split 1 pk which
was modified in its expansion system using TXV with size orifice 01. COP system of 3,425.
