PENGARUH VARIASI BAHAN ABRASIVE TERHADAP ADHESIVITAS COATING PADA MATERIAL SS400
Abstract
Fabrication is a series of works where several material components are assembled together gradually until they become a unified form so that they can be installed into a finished building. The fabrication stage must meet the same criteria as painting. Painting is a coating process on a material that serves to protect the object from rust. The largest percentage of painting failures is caused by a less than optimal surface preparation process. Dryblasting is surface cleaning by firing abrasive material at a material with high pressure so as to cause friction. Choosing the right abrasive material will improve paint adhesion, one of which is by using steel grit and steel shot. The surface preparation of steel grit abrasive material shows that the adhesion has decreased slightly with a value of 15MPa- 13MPa, as well as steel shot abrasive material which has also decreased adhesion with a value of 14MPa-12MPa. The combination of abrasive coating material types that produces the best coating adhesion is steel grit abrasive material which has an adhesion value of 15.64 MPa in the tensile test.
