Analisis Pengaruh Variasi Filler dan Kuat Arus Pengelasan Dissimilar SM490YA dengan Cast Steel terhadap Kekerasan
Abstract
Dissimilar welding is a technique for joining two different types of metals, but over time there are more and more variations of joints that experience problems. This study was conducted to analyze joint failures characterized by cracking or fracture, which may be caused by the selection of inappropriate current strength and the use of filler metal with lower tensile strength than the material being joined. To overcome these problems, the selection of filler metal and the appropriate current strength is important. This study uses two types of filler metal, ER70S-6 and ER80S-G, with three variations of current strength, namely 100A, 175A, and 250A. Tests were conducted through hardness tests on several areas, including base metal, weld metal, HAZ cast steel, and HAZ SM490YA. The test results showed the highest hardness value of 279.10 HVN in the weld metal area using ER80S-G filler and a current of 100A, and the lowest hardness value of 183.70 HVN in the HAZ area of SM490YA with a current strength of 250A.
