Abstract
Electrodes become damp when storing in exposed conditions yet remain in use for welding. The
objective is to demonstrate the comparison of re-baking oven temperature variations 150?C, 250?C, 350?C on
moist electrode towards radiography tests, impact tests, tensile tests, and chemical composition tests. The
variation of re-baking oven temperature affects the welding results on low hydrogen moist electrodes towards
radiography test results. There are no defects at 350?C temperature, while 250?C shows porosity defects, and
the 150?C shows slag inclusion and porosity defects. The results of chemical composition tests on E7018 and
E7018H4R electrodes contain different percentages of carbon and manganese elements. Result of re-baking
oven temperature 350?C impact test are higher in toughness value with an impact energy value of 131.6 J and
impact strength of 1.68 J/mm2 for E7018. Meanwhile, for E7018H4R electrode with impact energy value of
111 J and impact strength of 1.42 J/mm2. E7018 has a higher toughness value. The tensile test result shows
the highest ultimate strength value for the re-baking oven temperature variation 350C by 568.74 MPa for
E7018H4R and 551.32 MPa for E7018. The tensile strength value of E7018H4R is higher because the
E7018H4R carbon and manganese is more significant than E7018.
