PENGARUH VARIASI RELATIVE HUMIDITY DAN JENIS CAT TERHADAP ADHESIVITAS COATING PADA MATERIAL A36
Abstract
Painting is one of the crucial stages in the fabrication process. The purpose of painting is to enhance,
reinforce, and protect an object. One of the preparations that must be done before starting the painting process
is to check the environmental humidity around the painting area. Painting errors often occur at PT. X. The
main issue is the accumulation of product orders, which forces the company to carry out the painting process
under unsuitable conditions, specifically during the night when the relative humidity is above 85%. High
humidity impact the adhesive properties of the paint on the material to be painted. Besides relative humidity,
the type of paint used also affect the painting results. Each type of paint have different effects on the final
product. Therefore, in this studyt, the researcher cunducted a study with variations in relative humidity and
different types of paint to access their impact on painting adhesiveness. The aim is to compare the bonding
strength of paint resulting from these parameter variations to create a high-quality product. The adhesiveness
testing in this research was performed using the pull-off method. The testing data was analyzed using the
ANOVA method. The research revealed that relative humidity does not significantly affect the painting
adhesiveness, while the type of paint does influence the painting adhesiveness.
