Abstract

The use of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics material in factories in which chemicals are fed is very common. Like the installation contained in PT. Petro Jordan Abadi. The fiberglass is impregnated with resin in the lamination process so it becomes a strong and corrosion resistant material. All fiberglass manufacturers perform lamination processes in accordance with the preparation of Mat and WR in general to produce a new material. Prior to the lamination process, the operator first determines the laminate arrangement according to the desired thickness. In this final project will be discussed about Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics material testing with variation of Mat and WR arrangement. In the test there is Immersion test and Tensile test to determine the influence of fluid and its materilan strength. Tests on the material were performed using 2 specimen samples ie specimens using non-variation lamination and variation lamination at the placement of Mat and WR. Both are laminated with a ratio of 70:30. The tensile test process refers to ASTM D-638 "Standart Test Method for Tensile Properties of Plastics" while Immersion Test refers to ASTM-G31
