Abstract

Abstract - To protect the underground pipeline along 37 km. An oil company install CP with ICCP method. This pipeline connecting CPA and FSO. But problem that occurs on the cathodic protection system is overprotection and lessprotection for protecting pipe. This problem cause pipe easly corroded. This final project will be redesign cathodic protection using ICCP method with 8 variation groundbed type, 3 variation depth, and 3 variation of voltage capacity. There will be 72 variation of groundbed type, for use to be a consideration which groundbed type is efficient for this cathodic protection design. With the consideration how much voltage does the transformator need and how much produce current the transformator produce to protect the pipe. First, calculate ICCP current protection requirement. Then calculate of produce current and voltage requirement. Then analyze against each of groundbed variation. From this research, can be conclude the protection current required for protecting pipe along 31739.04 ð‘š2 is 11.902 amperes with using 8 pieces of anode. Based on the technical calculation of groundbed type, Deep Vertical Seri type is recommended. Because at this type produce protection current amount 17.793 ampere with voltage requirement amount 38.783 volt that will be applied at 25 meter of depth.
