Analisis Tegangan Line 10”-ET-1003-1CS4-C Pada Jetty Transfer Menuju Tangki Ethylene
Abstract
The petrochemical company in Indramayu is expanding its operations by constructing a jetty
head and a new line pipe, 10”-ET-1003-1CS4-C, designed to transport ethylene at -108°C from the
jetty head to the ethylene tank. As this is a new and critical line pipe, a stress analysis is required. This
analysis is conducted under sustained, occasional, and thermal loadings based on the ASME B31.3
standard. The calculation of the maximum allowable pipe span considers the smallest value between
stress and deflection limits, determined to be 36,601 ft. The highest stress values recorded for the pipe
are 13,660.26 psi under sustained load, 15,353.04 psi under occasional load due to wind, and 23,256.45
psi under thermal load. All these stress values are within the allowable limits, indicating the pipeline
is safe for operation. Although the pipe experiences a significant displacement of 160.402 mm in the X
direction.
