Abstract

In project implementation, cost and duration are often not in accordance with planning. In
this final project, the project object is the construction of Manyar smelter, due to material delays by
the main contractor, this project is delayed which results in the company getting a fine of 0.1% of the
contract value per day where the deadline on this project is July 10, 2024. This final project aims to
determine the optimal time and cost to maximize the remaining duration and cost by accelerating
using the Dual Shift and Fast Track methods. The two methods will be compared which one produces
the optimum duration with minimum cost. First, the calculation of productivity, duration and normal
costs will be carried out by making a normal network diagram and calculating the chances of
completing the project according to the deadline using the PERT method, after which a cost analysis
is carried out. The results of the analysis obtained the cost of completing the project for the remaining
work amounting to Rp24,883,094,879.26 with the project completion time on August 19, 2024. The
remaining project completion cost using the dual shift acceleration scenario is IDR
18,196,617,905.75 with a project completion time of June 27, 2024, while the remaining project
completion cost using the fast track acceleration scenario is IDR 20,138,511,412.00 with a project
completion time of July 17, 2024. While the available cost allocation for the completion of the
remaining projects is IDR 24,139,488,290.89, so the dual shift acceleration method was chosen to be
able to accommodate the completion of the remaining work projects in accordance with the costs
available for the completion of the remaining work.
