Analisis Fleksibilitas dan Allowable Span Terhadap Jalur Pipa Emergency yang Terhubung pada Flare dan Pressure Vessel
Abstract
This study analyzes stress on an emergency pipeline connected to a flare and pressure vessel at an oil
and gas facility in West Papua. The research is necessitated by the inability to perform shutdown maintenance
on the existing piping system due to high-pressure and high-temperature fluid flow. The objectives are to
determine support placement and analyze stress on the new emergency pipe design. The methodology includes
calculating the maximum allowable pipe span and stress analysis based on ASME B31.3 standards. Results
show that the maximum distance between pipe supports is 36.967 feet, with a minimum of 2 supports required.
The pipe flexibility value of 0.00146 is below the 0.02582 limit set by ASME B31.3. In conclusion, the
emergency pipeline design is deemed safe for operation and complies with applicable industry standards. This
research provides a practical solution for piping system maintenance without operational disruption,
highlighting the importance of technical analysis in ensuring the safety and efficiency of energy infrastructure.
