Perbandingan Inhibitor Egg Shell Powder Dengan Ekstrak Daun Pepaya Pada Material Stainless Steel 304L Terhadap Laju Korosi Fluida Sulphuric Acid
Abstract
One of the companies engaged in textiles located in Purwakarta, West Java is a producer of
viscose staple fiber and sodium sulfate. One of the problems found in the viscose fiber production process
is corrosion. Corrosion that occurs in the production system occurs because the fluid flowing is sulphuric
acid and the operational temperature factor in the system is 40ºC. Tests using the immersion test method
for 7 days or 168 hours and weight loss calculations were carried out to determine the corrosion rate and
life of the pipe. The test results show that the specimen with egg shell powder inhibitor has a corrosion
rate of 0.0142 mm/year and a life of 223.46847 years, while the specimen with papaya leaf extract
inhibitor has a corrosion rate of 0.00201 mm/year and a life of 1309,64369 years. Based on the test
results by comparing temperature variations of 40ºC, 50ºC and 60ºC, it can be seen that the effect of
temperature is directly proportional to the corrosion value.
