Abstract

One of the oil and gas exploration companies in the Brantas Working Area aims to
increase natural gas production by drilling a new gas well, TGA-19. The new TGA-19 pipeline
network leading to the TGA-1/7 well area comprises 6-inch both aboveground and underground
piping systems, designed to transport Process Gas (PG). Design of the piping system refers to the
ASME B31.3 for aboveground piping and ASME B31.8 for underground piping. Recommendation
schedule of pipe is 6” schedule 40 for aboveground piping system and 6”schedule 80 for
underground piping system. Base on pipe stress analysis software, the stress value of sustained load
for aboveground and underground piping system is 55,8% and 15,5% under the allowable stress
value while the stress value of thermal expansion load for aboveground and underground piping
system with 34,1% and 40,9% ratio that exceeding the alowable stress value.
