Abstract

Abstract - Discharge condensate pump 11LCB11AP001 pipe at Power Plant in Sulawesi is simulated water hammer due to trip pump 11LCB11AP001. The purpose of this simulation is to analysis of maximum pressure, transient duration and pipe stress due to dynamic load of water hammer with variation of flow rate TMCR (0,049 ) and RATED (0,058 ) with additional gas accumulator 32L, 42L and 54L. Obtained the most optimum is gas accumulator 54L with reduction ratio of maximum pressure 31.60% (TMCR) and 35.56% (RATED) and reduction ratio of transient duration is 24,46% (TMCR) and 20,61% (RATED). No over stress due to sustain load after additional gas accumulator 54L between pipe segmen 5 and 6 therefor no need redesign support. Analysis of pipe stress due to dynamic loads of water hammer is using time history method, the results analysis before adding gas accumulator 54L at pipe segments 15 to 25 is failure because over stress, this is because the lowest natural frequency is located in pipe segments 15 to 25 with value 6.265 Hz. By adding gas accumulator 54L, it is capable to reduce pipe stress due to dynamic load of water hammer, with the analysis results there is no over stress on all pipe segments.
