Abstract

Abstract The export urea warehouse is a building that has an important function for national fertilizer companies. The risk of fire in the export urea warehouse is unavoidable, so a fire extinguishing system is needed. A carbon dioxide (CO2) extinguishing system is chosen because it does not leave residue after the extinguishing process. The carbon dioxide extinguishing system design refers to NFPA 12 to calculate the amount of CO2 media requirements, determine the flow rate, calculate the number of discharge nozzles, and design the 3D and isometric drawing. Based on these calculations, 70029.9 kg of CO2 with 34% concentration extinguishing media are needed for a 1-minute discharge time. The capacity of the CO2 cylinder used is 45 kg so 1557 CO2 tubes are needed. The pipe sizes used are 3 inches for the main manifold, 2 inches for the manifold cylinder and divider pipe, 1 ¼ inch for the divider pipe, and 1 inch for the branch pipe.
